The City of Thousand Oaks, commonly referred to as T.O. by residents, is located in southeastern Ventura County, California.   It forms the most populated parts of a regional area called the Conejo Valley. 

As of the 2000 census, the population was 117,005.  Thousand Oaks is known for being among the safest large cities in the nation, consistently ranking as the first or second in the U.S.A.
